English Classes
If you would like to join our ESOL classes, please come to Borderlands for an assessment. These are held every Monday and Tuesday 11am – 12pm, there is no need to make an appointment, you are welcome to drop in.
Please note, if the classes are full, you will be added to our waiting list.
The great majority of our members do not speak English as their first language, and many have not had the chance to study English before.
Being able to speak English helps our members to rebuild their lives and be part of their new communities. It also helps overcome the loneliness and isolation they often experience.
What level of English do we teach?
We focus on basic language and literacy skills for the members in greatest need of help.
We keep the groups small so that it is easier to offer individual support to each learner.
When?
We run classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Beginners and Intermediate students. We also have a Reading and Conversation group for higher levels at 10:30am on Wednesday morning.
